ROOM REVIEW - TITAN POKER |
|
Titan
Poker is one of the newer reputable poker rooms. Peak
player volumes is around 800 at the moment but growing fast.
With the largest sign on bonus of any reputable poker room
at 100% match bonus on initial deposit up to $500 (but very
difficult to turn bonus into money so read the match bonus
terms very carefully to avoid disappointment), we can understand
why. Operated by one of the most successful online casinos
(one of which is Casino Tropez which was voted second most
popular online gaming institution in a poll conducted by the
BBC, second only to the UK National Lottery, Titan Poker is
clearly aiming to grow quickly. Rather than spending millions
of advertising, Titan Poker is clearly trying to attract players
by offering great value and incentives. Titan Poker is at
the moment geared towards the smaller stake players with micro
limits, low high stake limits and plenty of low buyin tourneys.
The most attractive feature of Titan Poker apart from its
high sign up bonus is the extremely soft action and loose
players. Thought the Cryptologic network (Betfair, William
Hill and Inter Poker) had the softest games, but the quality
of play at this site is at the point of being ridiculous.
Pot odds? What is that? Is that smoking pot and the risk of
getting caught? Hmmm. Do we need to say more?

POKER - POKER VARIANTS |
Titan
Poker supports the following forms of poker:
- Texas Hold Em
- Omaha
- Omaha Hi/Lo
There is little action, if any, at any of the poker variants
other than Texas Hold Em. |
TITAN
POKER - INTERFACE |
| The
Titan
Poker interface is uncomplicated as Titan Poker only supports
Texas Holdem, Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo. Simple to switch and navigate
in the lobby. The names and stacks of each player shows up when
you click a table. Very fast software and proven very reliable
as well. If you get bored with poker, it is easy to switch to
some of their casino games from the lobby. |
 |
| You
can create your own private tables. However, this cannot be
done from either the lobby or their website. You have to contact
their support and they will set it up for you. The online support
works well although |
TITAN
POKER - PLAYER TABLES |
Very
basic table design and rudimentary graphics. However, hand
history and statistics are available at the click of a button.
Plenty of player options where you can change your player
avatar, sound and game settings. Games can be a bit slow as
players are given quite a long time to make a decision. Very
clear to see the cards in play. What we like a lot is that
the chat is shown in the chat area as well as in a box below
the name plate of the person chatting. |

|
TITAN
POKER - RING GAMES |
Reasonable
player volumes at around 900 at peak times with the majority
playing Texas Hold Em, which is quite decent considering that
Titan Poker is a relative newcomer into the world of online
poker. It is growing rapidly which is due partly to its generous
sign up bonus of 100% match up to $500 which is by far the
highest of any poker room that we have come across. Note that
the conditions to turn the bonus into hard Cash are very severe
and tough to meet. However, if you do decide to try Titan
Poker, you will find very loose games, and we mean loose.
Presumably they have stumbled across to the poker room from
the casinos, and it shows in the quality of play. Rarely have
we seen so many bad players. People just can't fold an ace
it seems even if they haven't paired up anything and call
till river. And even at river they call with ace hi!!! |

With
player volumes so low, the Guaranteed events are very, very
good value. Often the players have a very large positive expected
outcome as they rarely meet the numbers whereby the players
contribute the entire prize purse; Titan at the moment subsidise
many of the guaranteed events.

Few players so found it sometimes
hard to find a table at the limits I play. However, the
loosest games of poker anywhere on the Net that I have
experienced. Hopefully it will continue. By the way, I
found the conditions to qualify for the initial deposit
bonus very onerous indeed. Much better value to be had
by others such as Absolute Poker. |
