POKER
ROOM REVIEW - POKER.COM |
 |
Poker.com
is a relatively new poker room with their own proprietary
software that primarily caters for the low stake games and
beginners to poker with plenty of daily freerolls for beginners
where they can hone their poker tournaments skills. Please
be warned that you will need Macromedia Flash 8 to be installed
onto your computer before you can play at Poker.com. However,
once you have gotten over that hurdle, the software is unique
to Poker.com and have a lot of innovative features such as
% of winning hand when you are all in in a No Limit game,
unique player avatars, labels when it is your turn and much
more. Good table stats in the lobby as well as easy to access
player statistics. We like the software a lot once they have
ironed out some minor glitches and with the features and player
support functionality, Poker.com
will be a very decent poker room to play at.
Poker.com has pretty soft games. Most of the volume is in
the micro limit and no-limit Texas Hold'em games where the
view flop percentage is normally in the 40's and 50's. The
players are quite passive making it relatively easy for a
decent player to win. Added to that are speedy withdrawals
making it ideal for a shark to make a tidy profit and quickly
withdraw the winnings! Peak player volumes is up to around
2,000 players which is quite low overall, but not bad for
a relatively new poker room. HAS THE
PONTENTIAL TO BECOME ONE OF OUR FAVOURITE POKER ROOMS! when
technical glitches have been ironed out and greater player
volumes. |

POKER.COM
- POKER VARIANTS |
| Poker.com
supports the following forms of poker:
|
POKER.COM
- INTERFACE |
| Poker.com's
software and player base are unique as they have proprietary
software and network. The graphics are nice and clear and the
functionality is good. Poker.com
offers lobby music which we find annoying. An overview of the
site is easily obtained in the lobby, which displays stats such
as average pot, hands player per hour, and viewed flop percentage.
On the negative side, there are some small glitches making the
playability less than perfect although the playing tempo is
still decent. When traffic has been built up and some software
updates are done, this will be a quite nice room to play at. |
 |
POKER.COM
- PLAYER TABLES |
Very unique look and feel - very different from other poker
rooms. However, the graphics is top notch and plenty of features
to assist the player such as instant hand histories, win statistics,
note taking support, and the option to tag players as, for
example, "sharks" or "fish". Easy to switch
between tables if you are playing at more than one table at
the same time with tabs of the tables that you are playing
at at the top of the player interface. Unique player avatars
can be used which show up beside the name plate. Plenty of
different sounds to assist you when it is your turn. It is
easy to see who is in the hand and who are not. In our view,
one of the most user friendly player interfaces at the moment
anywhere. Fix the glitches and this could easily move up our
rankings very quickly. |

|
POKER.COM
- RING GAMES |
Rather
low volumes at the moment but bear in mind that it is a relatively
new poker room and that Poker.com has its own network and
does not share the player base with anyone else. Only Texas
Holdem and Omaha are supported at the moment, and most of
the action is at the Texas Holdem tables, primarily at the
micro stake levels. As Poker.com is catering a lot towards
the novice to online poker, it is an excellent place to make
money for an experienced player. |

POKER.COM
- TOURNAMENT |
Poker.com
has far more players in their tournaments than in their cash
games. This is understandable with the multitude of freerolls
on offer like the bi-hourly $100 freeroll which is free to
enter for all. For the frequent player, there are some huge
freerolls such as the weekly $20,000 and bi-weekly $4,000
freeroll as well as the daily $3,000. The guaranteed tournaments
cater more for the low stake players as shown below but recently
Poker.com have introduced a $10,000 Guaranteed tournament
on Sundays. |

There
are plenty of qualifiers to the big guaranteed events such
as the Aussie Millions with satellites starting from as little
as $1. Naturally Poker.com would be involved in the Aussie
Millions as the company is based in Australia. |

POKER.COM
- SUPPORT |
Poker.com
only has 24/7 e-mail support. It is staffed by very knowledgeable
staff who generally respond very quickly. Still a big negative
that there is no live or telephone support. |
POKER.COM
- LOYALTY PROGRAMME |
|
Poker.com
has one of the most generous and easily joinable freerolls
of any poker room online! Of particular interest is the daily
$3,000 freeroll eligible for anyone who has played 250 raked
hands during any 7 day stretch. There are $100 freerolls for
all players every 2 hours of the day 7 days per week! The

Best site for beginners with
plenty of freerolls available to all. Interesting software
which is unique to Poker.com. Only annoying thing is that
I had to install new software to run their interface. |
