ROOM REVIEW - THE GAMING CLUB POKER |
 |
The Gaming Club Poker Room is a “network skin”
which is part of the PrimaPoker Network, with its shared player
database. Prima Network has grown quickly in 2005 and now
has well over 10,000 players online at peak time and several
thousand off peak. With a 100% initital deposit bonus up to
$50, The Gaming Club Poker Room should be of interest to any
poker player intending to play a lot. Having been established
in 1995, The Gaming Club Poker Room is a highly reputable
poker room within the Belle Rock Gaming consortium. Plenty
of juicy action (often provided by the many people who have
dropped in by mistake from the casinos). |

THE
GAMING CLUB POKER ROOM - POKER VARIANTS |
The
Gaming Club Poker Room supports the following forms of poker:
- Texas Hold Em
- Omaha
- Omaha Hi/Lo
- Seven Card Stud
- Five Card Stud
|
THE
GAMING CLUB POKER ROOM - INTERFACE |
The
Gaming Club Poker Room software is a customised shared-network
version of Prima Poker Network by Microgaming. The graphics
are rather rudimentary and with limited functionality, but
the action has been speeded up so ideal for those looking
for a fast paced game. There is no player options menu where
you can set your preferences. Very useful software for those
that like to play at several tables at the same time. Easy
to click buttons to switch between up to 3 simultaneous tables.
The Gaming Club Poker Room does share the player base with
the rest of the Prima Poker Network to ensure high traffic
with between 3,000 to over 10,000 players at peak times. Hand
history is available by HTML page and via email. One nice
feature is the possibility to see all actions in the chat
area to the right - who raised and called and for which amounts
in the previous betting rounds and previous hands. This feature
is invaluable for players not keeping full focus on the game
(playing on other tables or having other distractions). |
 |
THE
GAMING CLUB POKER ROOM - PLAYER TABLES |
Very
basic table layout. No player avatars and no options feature
to set up your individual player preferences and there is
only limited sound (just when cards being dealt). Clear design
and uncluttered. Cards are very clear so no confusion with
which suit they are or flickering screen. Essentially quite
easy to use with good hand history to the right. Sure it doesn't
have some of the more useful stats functions and the bells
and whistle attached to the player preferences, but provides
an easy on the eye playing experience. |
 |
THE
GAMING CLUB POKER ROOM - RING GAMES |
The
Gaming Club Poker Room ring game traffic is quite high.
The ring game traffic at peak times is around 3,000 players.
Fairly limited game variety. However, the action tends to
be loose and fast. A lot of short-handed tables (max. 6 players)
and plenty of high limit tables. |

The Gaming Club Poker Room
is very much like most of the other Prima Network-based
poker rooms. The only real difference really comes to
loyalty programmes and sign up bonus. As such, I have
found better value for the amount that I play with other
poker rooms. |

I'm having a problem withdrawing
my money from gaming club. I won 200.00 in a freeroll
so i dep 50.00 to get the money out it would not let
me so i tried to withdraw my 50.00 they reject it and
put the money back in my acct. so i figure they wont
release my dep because its only 2 days since i made
my dep. I play in a 20.00 sng and win. paid 100.00 so
i try to withdraw the 100.00 they return it back to
my acct. I emailed them twice but I get no response.
This site stinks.
Addendum by Ed: The problem
was due to the $10 free bonus which requires a player
to play at least 70 raked hands in order to make any
withdrawals from the account! So please remember that
if you accept a bonus to read the bonus requirements
carefully. |
