ROOM REVIEW - CARIBBEAN SUN POKER |
 |
Caribbean
Sun Pokeroe is a popular poker room, with its loose games
and the great monthly loyalty bonus. Caribbean Sun Poker uses
CryptoLogic's platform, with a shared player base together
with William Hill Poker, Betfair Poker and Inter Poker as
well as a number of other smaller poker rooms. The games are
among the loosest today, so if you are looking for soft games
this is a good poker room. The player volume in the network
has increased substantially in 2004 and early 2005 although
the growth has slowed down of late. The software has OK functionality,
but the graphics are not as nice (other Cryptologic partners
like Betfair have clearer graphics). They have a great monthly
loyalty bonus where you get $40 after playing 250 raked hand
each calendar month. There is also an open "proposition
player" program, where you get paid to start up new games
or play in short-handed games.
So why choose Caribbean Sun Poker over other Cryptologic
Network poker rooms? Caribbean Sun Poker may not have the
financial security rating as do Betfair, William Hill and
Inter Poker. However, Caribbean Sun Poker offer far greater
promotions, freerolls and loyalty programme than the others.
So if you like the loose action at Cryptologic and looking
for loyalty rewards, Caribbean Sun Poker is really THE choice.
And you don't have to worry about their financial security
as they have been in the business since 2000. |

SUN POKER - INTERFACE |
| Caribbean
Sun Pokeroe interface seems to be faster than Betfair's (perhaps
a mental aberration on our part). in responding to a command
although very clear and easy to use. The only way of communicating
with other players is through the chat function at a table.
Observers of a game can make comments although you as a player
have the option to turn the chat off. The waiting list function
works well which allows you to wait on a particular table or
another table of the same limit (in all currencies supported).
£, $ and € are supported at almost all the stakes/limits
available. |

SUN POKER - PLAYER TABLES |
Very
basic table layout - uncluttered which means that focus can
be given to the cards and not the graphics; still some better
graphics wouldn't really hurt. The Player's Name and the size
of his stack are superimposed over the chair. The cards are
clear and easy to see. Only problem is when you try to play
two or more tables as the screens auto flicker when it is
your turn. This can make you click the wrong button at a different
table than you intended to. You can check from where each
player is coming from by moving the cursor over the name plate;
don't really know how useful that is but guess there must
be a reason for it. |

SUN POKER - RING GAMES |
Caribbean
Sun Pokeroe has plenty of Texas Hold Em ring games at all
times of the day. However, there are few players of the other
forms of poker if any at all. Texas Hold Em is the name of
the game at Caribbean Sun Poker. A lot of high stake tables
online with a maximum of £150/£300 at limit where
average played hand is around £1,500 ($3,000) and a
lot of $10/$20 No Limit action where pots often are in excess
of $1,000. A lot of short-handed tables (max. 6 players). |

SUN POKER - TOURNAMENTS |
Caribbean
Sun Pokeroe's multi-table tournaments are reasonable whereas
their Sit and Go tournaments are poor. It is difficult to
get to play in a single table tournament as you can be waiting
a very long time before it starts; only for the most patient.
The multi-table tournaments occur approx. every 30 minutes
or so. The tournament list has grown considerably in 2005
and now has a much wider range and frequency than a year ago.
As with almost all online poker rooms, there are qualifiers
to the big poker events. |

SUN POKER - LOYALTY PROGRAMME |
|
Quite attractive for the regular players, who get a $40 bonus
(rakeback) each month for their first 250 raked hands. Player
points are rewarded depending on the raked hands played. These
will allow you to enter special Freeroll tournaments. Also
coming soon, you will be able to transfer your poker points
into 'Peak Rewards', and ultimately into free cash or fabulous
merchandise.
A $250 / £150 jackpot will be paid to the player holding
the highest hand of the day ending at 11:59 PM EST. In order
for the player’s hand to qualify it must go to a showdown
and be played at a real money table. There is also a Bad Beat
Jackpot. The Bad Beat Jackpot will never drop below the minimum
of $2,500.00/ £1,500. Every morning at 12:00 AM EST,
the jackpot will increase by $150.00/£100.

All I can say is that I love
the loose play especially at the low stakes NL tables.
Think that the majority of players have stumbled across
to the poker room from the Royal Vegas online casino and
play poker like they gamble - lady luck rather than pot
odds. With the free $10 download bonus, turned it into
a few hundred within a few days. So I can forgive them
for the poor graphics and limited player setting options.
Easy money to be made here. |
