ROOM REVIEW - ABSOLUTE POKER |
 |
Absolute
Poker is a well established online poker room with up
to 8,000 players online at peak time. Absolute Poker offer
one of the most generous initial sign-on bonuses around with
a massive match bonus up to $500 (via Neteller) or $200 via
any other deposit methods (200% match bonus but please remember
to type in "AP200" in the bonus code box). CLICK
HERE to find out more about the terms and conditions of the
sign-on bonus. Frequent generous reload bonuses as well; ideal
for frequent players. Extensive tournament schedule with satellites
to WSOP events. Excellent play money playability.
What is special about Absolute Poker is that the sign up
bonus is relatively easy to qualify for, especially considering
the enormous 200% matching bonus. Play low limit and you will
soon see $10 at a time be credited to your account until your
bonus has all been deposited into your account. And getting
loyalty points is quite easy to do as well which can be used
for tournaments or exchange for Absolute apparel.

POKER - POKER VARIANTS |
Absolute
Poker supports the following forms of poker:
- Texas Hold Em
- Omaha
- Omaha Hi/Lo
- Seven Card Stud
- Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo
|
ABSOLUTE
POKER - INTERFACE |
| Absolute
Poker software is quite decent. Very responsive to commands
with fast upload time. However, we are not big fans of the graphics,
but from a practical standpoint the playability is good. Good
navigation bar at the top so you don't have to access their
web site externally for information. The one really annoying
thing though is that the NL limits are unclear and fussy (similar
gripes as with Paradise Poker interface). |

POKER - PLAYER TABLES |
The
graphics of the player tables could definitely be improved
upon. Compared to some other poker rooms, the graphics could
be called sub-standard with poor resolution. This is partially
compensated by the fact that you can choose an image as your
player avatar. The cards dealt are rather small relative to
the player images which are rather intrusive. In our view,
the cards ought to be the most prominent and not the player
images. |

ABSOLUTE
POKER - RING GAMES |
Absolute
Poker has reasonable number of ring games at all times,
although most action is at the Texas Hold Em tables. Strangely
enough, they have 1 on 1, 6 and NINE player tables. Soft games
are a plenty but also some strong players. Be selective in
your choice of tables and you can make a bundle if you find
the loose players of which they are many. |

POKER - TOURNAMENTS |
Absolute
Poker tournament traffic is fairly small off peak and
this is also the case with the number of tournaments being
held. However, regular freerolls which are extremely popular
and fill up fast (2,000 players) are held throughout the day.
Most have very small prize purses but an excellent way of
getting tournament practice for free. Otherwise Absolute Poker
has an extensive regular tournament schedule. However, apart
from the WSOP satellites, their guaranteed prize funds are
relatively meagre compared to most of the other leading poker
rooms. |

POKER - SUPPORT |
In
today's market place, it is becoming rare to find a major
poker room not having 24/7 telephone support. Only e-mail
is supported by Absolute
Poker, although the e-mail help desk has worked well so
far. But still a definite minus.

AP is behind in quality,
I prefer the sites that have hand history. I like to go
back though a game to see if there is anything I could
have done differently, but they do have a lot of club
freerolls. |
